Item:332454207487ANTIQUE 19TH CENTURY FRENCH PARIS PORCELAIN CLOCK ROCOCO 8 DAY BELL STRIKE Description An impressive antique French 19th century Paris porcelain clock. The porcelain case is modeled with gilt rococo scrolling motifs and incorporates a number of mythical fish creatures. The case also has floral panels contained with gilt enamel borders before a green ground. The clock stands upon a porcelain base. All decoration has been painted by hand. The face dial is engraved with black Roman numerals and has fancy gilt brass hands. The clock contains an eight day brass AD Mougin movement that Strikes upon a bell fully on the hour and a singularly each half hour. Clock sold complete with bell, pendulum and key. 20 Photos in Gallery below - please scroll down to view. Please note I have had this clock on the mantle piece and it has been ticking and holding good time. It does however have an issue with the bell as the bell appears too large for the clock and does not strike cleanly. Also the hands and key winders are protruding from the dial. I have not had this clock serviced. It may benefit from a service. Movement sold 'As is' and is not guaranteed working. This clock will require setting up after transit and may require adjustments to have the clock in working order. We recommend you use a professional clock expert to set up this clock for you. This is the same for all antique mechanical clocks. Marks & Back-stamps Case unmarked. Movement signed AD MOUGIN Size and Weight Height including stand: 15 3/8" 39cm tall Stand width: 11 1/2" 29cm Stand depth: 7" 18cm. Weight n/a (measurements and weights where specified are approximate) Condition Please see above for more information regarding the movement. The case has a small loss at the top. Otherwise in good condition with no cracks, no chips, no repairs, no restoration. The porcelain stand is in good condition with no cracks, no chips, no repairs, no restoration. It has had something added to one of the corners where the clock sits I assume to make the clock level. Some rubbing to to the top. The dial and hands are dark and would benefit from a clean. The hands and key winders are protruding from the dial. I think this was as the bell is quite large for the clock (possibly not original bell) and these adjustments were made to cater for it. I am not certain of this. Age commensurate wear. Please gauge condition using the photos provided. Please scroll down for more photos and information. Thank you!!!
