DESCRIPTION: This is a wonderful and superb quality antique 8 inch dial chain fusee mahogany wall clock which dates to circa 1900. The clock is of wonderful petite proportions and has a rare 8 inch dial. The movement to this clock is superb being CHAIN fusee. The case is mahogany which is a lovely rich colour as can be seen from the photographs.   The dial is marked out with Roman numerals, and has lovely shaped fingers. The dial is in lovely original condition. The bezel is brass.   There is a door to the base, which allows the pendulum to be hung and also a door to the side. These are complete with there original little catches which hold the door in place. The dial and movement are held in place with two wooden pegs.
  The movement itself is stamped with the number '1624' and is a superb quality chain fusee movement. As can be seen from the photographs the movement is nice and clean. The clock is happily ticking away. The clock comes complete with it's pendulum and winding key. The backbox is nice quality also and has fine dovetail joints.   DIMENSIONS: The approximate dimensions are: - 10.5 inches (26.5 cm) diameter across the case - 8 inches (20.5 cm) diameter across the dial - 6.25 inches (16 cm) deep   AGE: The clock dates to circa 1920   CONDITION: With regards condition, the clock is in superb condition, as can be seen from the photographs. Just minor marks commensurate with age and careful use. The dial is in lovely original condition and has aged nicely, there are a couple of chips to the dial commensurate with age. The bezel is lacking the small piece of metal that the catch slots into when closed.
 
This really is a wonderful, 8 inch wall clock which is in lovely condition. It would grace any wall, so happy bidding.
