This is a truly remarkable ansonia cast iron metal mantel clock literally sides back front top all cast from metal and bolts together on the inside finshed in a lovely black enamel paint with absolutely no corrosion and gold scroll decoration also lion masks to each side this clock is in excellent working condition has survived incredibly well considering its heavy construction with just a chip to the top glass front and a small amount of white enamel missing on the right hand side of dial could easily be repainted please see picture provided not bad arfter 137 years of use also the front glass of dial is slightly loose but functions perfectly ok opens and closes ok the workings on this clock are clean and functioning perfectly ok keeps excellent time also has the ansonia clock co new York stamped on the back June 1882 the pendulum is the original to this clock as also is the key which has the ansonia stamped on this the hands on the front are also original to this clock being also made of cast metal and enameled black this is a truly remarkable clock dating from the late 19 century has a few minor imperfections but nothing that is to noticeable it also has a wonderful chime on the thirty mins past the hour and one to 12 on the o'clock the measurement of this wonderful piece are 15 inches by six inches by 10 inches high I would prefer if someone could collect this fantastic clock rather than posting I could meet anywhere near to braintree or Chelmsford in Essex I will post at buyers risk for £12.00 and item will be packed and securely wraped to the best of ability if you have any further questions regarding this superb clock please email me thank youAge:Antique, Pre-1900, Sub-Type:Mantel Clock, Type:Mantel/ Carriage Clock, Material:Metal, Style/ Origin/ Theme:Victorian, Clock Type:Mantel/ Carriage Clock, Features:8-Day
