Seller: Top-Rated Seller acquilegia (4.568) 100%, Location: Egham, Ships to: Americas & many other countries, Item: 163629256142 A lovely seated poodle dog holding a top hat and walking cane, (probably intended as either a match or toothpick holder) figure. The piece is a good quality heavy cold painted metal figure I think this piece would originally have been intended as a vesta match holder, possibly the matches to be struck on his roughened coat around his shoulders. Of course, he could also possibly hold a toothpicks or other small desktop items such as pen nibs or paperclips. He stands about 4 inches (10 cm) high. I cannot see any sign of a signature on the piece, but it is very well observed and modelled. The item may originally have had a base, but he sits very well and evenly as he is presented here. A lovely item for any dog lover.PLEASE NOTE: Due to the relatively high value of this item, I have priced the postage to include insurance for, hopefully, added peace of mind for both parties.
