A 19th Century French Tea Caddy

This box is constructed from a soft wood,

that has veneered in a decorative thuya on all the sides  

there is a ebony stringing on the edges

on the top is inlaid cartouche with a kingwood cross banding

on the front is a brass escutcheon  

the top opens to reveal a rosewood interior with a lid that has a turned knob   

This box is in good condition with a lovely finish .

13.5cm x 12.5cm x 12cm

This box does not come with a key
