This mahogany case is extremely well made and features beautiful daisy chain inlay to the front. There are 4 holes at the front which may have been for pilasters though there is no evidence there was ever a door. The case could be adapted for a weight driven mechanism though in its current form it is for a spring driven mechanism. Weighs 3.2kg before wrapping. The wall mounted section of the case measures 17.25" (44cm) long with its plinth 10.5" (27cm) wide and 7.25" (18.5cm) deep. The hood has arched hole at the front which is 5.5" (14cm) wide and 7.25" (18.5cm) high. Inside the hood is 8.75" (22cm) wide with the top hollow so providing plenty of space for a bell (12.25"/31.5cm height).
