this is a stunning Chinese Ming Dynasty scholars scroll weight. Gorgeous scholars object that would be a great decoration or addition to anyone’s collection. Has a very simple and visually pleasing form, and it was made between 1369-1644. Pieces like this pop-up for sale quite rarely, as a lot of them are being scooped up by collectors. At some point in its life, it seems as if a scholar had modified it into a water dropper in order to wet his brushes for calligraphy. Quite a unique combination piece that actually has beautiful form and a function. Still has very good shape and form factor. That is very feng shui. Came from a well renowned Asian antiques collection in San Francisco. I also had it verified by another Antiques dealer and he did verify it as being from the ming dynasty.
