Item:143323638340This is an antique Japanese Meiji Era (c. 1890's) lidded bowl I found in a Japanese kura (warehouse) which had items dating back over 300 years. This bowl was made over 130 years ago of hand lathe turned Japanese cryptomeria (sugi) wood with several coats of red & black lacquer. It has a makie (raised gold) design of a pine tree and crane (tsuru) bird. Having been in storage for over a century, with exception of some minor signs of past use and missing lacquer on both lid and base (see picture 7), this bowl remains in very good condition. It measures about 4 1/2" in diameter by 3 1/2" tall with lid (11.4 x 8.9 cm). You'll love it, I guarantee it.........If you purchase these items and are not completely delighted with them, you may return them for a no questions asked refund within 30 days of receipt.Sailerking and the Shogun's Gallery have been in the Japanese antique business for over 38 years, and highly value our customers.
