Often, however, interiors are in un-usable and un-saleable states so we refurbish as sympathetically as possible thereby keeping the integrity of the boxWe also try not to over-restore box exteriors thereby taking away the character *Whilst we make every endeavour to ensure the information we give is accurate, we can only work within the limits of provenance available and our own experience and expertise* THIS IS A GEORGE III (REGENCY PERIOD) LARGE ROSEWOOD CAMPAIGN WRITING SLOPE CIRCA 1815 - 1820(approx 204 - 199 years old) WRITING BOXES WERE A PERSONAL POSSESSION AND NOT A HOUSEHOLD POSSESSION THIS BOX IS A BEAUTIFULLY FIGURED ROSEWOOD WITH RECESSED CENTRAL PANELS EDGED WITH GADROONING AND DECORATED WITH MOTHER-OF-PEARL ROUNDELS AND PEWTER STRINGING THE BRASS SIDE HANDLES ARE THE ORIGINAL FLAT FOLDING CAMPAIGN ONES THERE IS A STYLISED MOTHER-OF-PEARL CARTOUCHE WITH LOVELY DEPTH OF COLOURIT IS ENGRAVED WITH THE NAME 'W.
