Seller: timerunner56 (930) 100%, Location: Bournemouth, Dorset, Ships to: GB & many other countries, Item: 292960151330 A Delightful Large Ormolu & Faux Tortoiseshell Mantle Clock By VincentiA delightful and large French striking mantle clock by 'Vincenti'. This very impressive piece comes in a beautiful faux tortoiseshell case with brass or ormolu mounts which are excellent quality. This very stylish clock is offered to you in the same condition that I found it. It hasn't been cleaned so the case and mounts will come up beautifully afterwards if required. The front has been covered with four sections of faux tortoiseshell veneer. This particular example is larger and more impressive than the usual versions I have had in the past, a real statement piece. The dial is very nice and original with beautifully shaped dial hands and Roman and standard (Arabic style) numerals and markers. Dial is in mostly good condition but does has some crazing to the surface (difficult to see when bezel is closed). It has no chips and is signed 'Mappin Brothers, 66 Cheapside E.C'. John Mappin acquired the business from the Mappin Brothers in 1899 which dates this clock from around 1899-1910 approximately. The French movement is a 8 day version and looks in nice condition. It does need a suspension and has not been tested. The two springs are good and fully wound. The original pendulum is included and has the same number '2779' on it as the number on the back of the movement itself, confirming its originality. Although not tested I am confident that after a good clean and service it will run well. This gong striking clock comes also with its winding key and measures 16.5in tall 8in wide x 5in deep. A fine quality mantle clock by a top French maker in very nice original condition.Happy to answer any questions, either via message or phone ( 07761 432112 ) Terms and ConditionsAll my items are sold for restoration and consequently sold as seen without a guarantee.
