Beautifully hand painted depiction on the centre of the dial of a river side cottage which is repeated on the handles, while below it the panel depicts a courting couple in period dress. The brass bezel has thick bevelled glass. The case is also nicely detailed with birds with a nest full of eggs can be found at the top of the case. There is a repair required to the back two legs, one has a small crack while the other is slightly bent (see photos).The French 8 day bell striking movement looks in nice condition and is ticking away well and the springs are good and fully wound. When the hands are manually rotated it moves and strikes well. But not tested for time keeping so sold as is for restoration only This item is sold with a pendulum and key and measures 14.5in tall 8.5in wide x 4.5in deep.
