A very striking, decorative jug, which perfectly fits the description "shabby chic"! Made by Lancaster & Sons of Hanley (1906-1920), it features 3 colourful transfer printed birds flying around a cloudy sky. There is no major damage, just lots of signs of use. There is a firing crack where the bottom of the handle joins the body, wear to the glaze around the rim, base and top of the handle, and some light wear, scratches and marks to the body. The grey line behind the stork is just a mark, not a crack. It still rings when pinged! It measures 13.5cm tall and 13cm across the body.
