This is 1 of 15+ Vintage & Antique Estate Fresh Paintings Listed from the Halls of MD, VA, NJ, NY, PA, DE & NC Estates. 

This is a great-looking medium sized mid 19th century Civil War era oil on canvas portrait painting of a lady in mourning. She is dressed in black with a white lace bonnet with a gold pain on the ribbon around her neck. She also appears to be holding something in her left hand though it cannot be made out. The likelihood of this young lady being the Widow to a civil war soldier is fairly High. She is of the era and is housed in what appears to be the original heavily damaged just so decorated wooden frame. The painting itself displays well and looks to have been relined with wax onto a newer canvas backing for stability and repairs over the years. There is a 2-inch scratch to the paint at the bottom left corner which could easily be repaired or ignored. Other than minimal scuffs and age where this 19th century portrait of a Civil War era Widow display as well and is begging for her new home. 19 and a 1/2 in by 24 and 1/2 in
