Hand painted in the Kutani style with scenes of Japanese ladies in kimonos and Japanese men. With heavy raised gold and moriage designs over beige, green, red, blue, green and pink sections. Gold gilt highlights to the handle, spout and finial. Red and gold around the foot rim. Has a Japanese mark in red on the base. Probably 19th century, but I do not read Japanese. Has some wear to the gilding, but otherwise good condition with no chips or cracks. Measures approximately 7 1/2 inches wide from spout to handle x 5 3/8 inches tall. This is an antique and may have small in manufacture defects that do not effect the display of the piece.
