Up for sale is a 1968 FE Olds & Son 'Opera' Tenor Trombone with F Key manufactured in Fullerton, CA. Serial #669xxx. It has slide bore .547/.547, with an 8 1/2" diameter bell flare. It is made of solid nickel silver with a brass valve. There are very few minor dings and some light rippling on the bell, with normal pitting at the grips. There are very few scratches. The slide action is very good and the slide stockings are very good with one tiny wear-through spot on the upper inner tube; with good compression. This horn has a very bright, powerful tone, with a big full sound and has good intonation and nice range. This horn is not lacquered and will need to be polished periodically (we recommend using Weiman METAL Polish).
The Olds Opera was the top of the line symphonic trombone; with excellent response across the entire range and soaring sound. This particular Opera has tons of power and is very nice in the higher register. It comes with a mouthpiece and a used case. Thanks for looking and check out our other items!
