1964 Hofner Senator Bass - Cherry Sunburst - Andy Baxter Bass

1964 Hofner Senator Bass with a staple type Hofner pickup, Cherry Sunburst finish and a Tortoise shell guard. Serial 1526. The bass came in with non original tuners and bridge so we have fitted replacements direct from Hofner. The holes from the previous tuners are visible. The bridge had to be modified by adding an extra layer of ebony to raise the strings as the body top has dipped slightly near the F hole on the E string side. Gig bag included. 

The binding is intact, the frets are in good condition and the electronics work as they should. The headstock has a few dings, the body and the back of the neck are in great condition. The neck is straight and there is plenty of room in the truss rod. The bass is fully set up by my tech and has a great action and equally good tone. 

Originally produced as the 500/3 in the late fifties, it took Hofner's London-based distributor, Selmer's of Charing Cross Road, to introduce model names and thus baptise this f-holed beauty.

This bass can be viewed and collected at my showroom in Hoxton, London. If you decide to have it shipped i will make sure it's packed well inside a cardboard guitar box.
