Hand written Indenture on 2 leaves of vellum measuring 26½ inches by 22 inches.
Dated 26 January 1856. The date on the back is 1855 but this seems to be an error.
Small hand coloured plan to the margin of page 2.
People named in the agreement are:
· William Henry Griffin of Birmingham in the County of Warwick, Gentleman.
· Joseph Rake of the City of Bristol, Leather Factor.
The above are creditors of the estate of Josiah Bowrin late of Walsall in the County of Stafford, Currier - a Bankrupt.
· James Christie of Birmingham, Esquire - official assignee of the same estate.
· William Bradley of Walsall, Plater.
· Charles Ross of Walsall, Butcher.
· Robert Trussler of Walsall, Leather Cutter.
Relates to the Conveyance of 2 Dwelling houses in Day Street (formerly called Melancholy Lane) in Walsall with workshops and outbuildings belonging - in the occupations of James Parker and William Bradley.
CONDITION. Contents complete. No holes or tears. Slight darkening to vellum in places but good clean condition for a document of this age. Handwriting clear and easy to read.
