Presented for auction is this Superb Rare Antique Victorian Large Solid Sterling Silver Unpersonalised Trophy Goblet, hallmarked for London 1877 by H J Lias & Son (Henry John Lias & Henry John Lias).
This superb rare antique Victorian unpersonalised solid silver trophy goblet has a large bowl which is beautifully embossed with floral sprays all around, it has a knopped stem and stands on a circular spreading base which is also embossed with flowers and the base edge is beautifully beaded, superb quality item/craftsmanship. It is hallmarked to the bowl with the makers mark HL over HL, the Lion Passant denoting solid sterling silver, the London assay office Leopards head, the date letter T for 1874 and the Duty mark of Queen Victoria's head, please see all the additional photos as they form part of the description.
Measuring 8 1/2" high by 4" in diameter across the bowl approx. it is in excellent used condition with no dents, dings, splits or repairs, just usual light wear consistent with age/use and it weighs a heavy 255grams or 8.19 troy ounces by my electronic scales.
