The Sultan's Epitaph - An Aid to Faith Remember the Days of Abdul Medjid, by Divine Providence Commander of the Faithful ... This is an ornate, large, one page document which dates to around 1867 (reference to the sixth year since his death - 1861), in remembrance of Sultan Adbul Medjib, the 31st Sultan of the Ottoman Empire in Turkey. It measures 16" tall by 9" wide and is in 19th century Gothic type. It has been folded and stuck to a card, but folds out nicely and would look great framed. Has a small pencil inscription to base (See other side) and on verso (the other side), throws more light on the epitaph - "The copy has a sky and moon and is altogether better drawn". Intriguing item if you are interested in the history of the Ottoman Empire and Turkey. £12 + Postage £1.90 UK, £8 Turkey/Europe.
