Hi I am selling some of my odd items that I have collected over the years. This pre-loved WW1 Death Penny Plaque is a rare and highly collectable item. Its design commemorates the soldiers who lost their lives during the First World War and is a unique piece of history. Made from metal, this vintage plaque includes its original envelope style box.


It features name “Walter Porter” and the words “He Died for His Freedom” . Pte Porter’s service number was 200448 I believe and he was born in 1897 in Stockton on Tees and enrolled with the 5th Battalion of Durham Light Infantry. He was hospitalised with shrapnel wounds to the left leg and died of his wounds on 6th October 1918 in Alfred St Mill Hospital, Manchester.
