You are bidding on a very rare turquoise colored alhambrian pottery jardinere from the late 1800s.
Alhambrian pottery is English and was producing wares out of Staffordshire.
This piece is very early - evident by its high quality, Burlsem overlay/press fabric texture technique AND its use of gold, pictured. The gold still exists here and there (like authentic Old Staffordshire dogs) but has been mostly washed away over the last 133+ years.
Later examples of this blank are executed in green and even later yet, with an added handle.
This piece is also a much larger size than most Alhambrian ware pieces, so, if you're a collector or own this piece is a different color, this IS a MUST HAVE!!!
This piece is in excellent condition with no signs of damage or repairs. You can see kiln blast chards in the interior of this piece as well as the 3 wooden "kiln stand" marks - again - proving its age. There are very minute signs of crazing but overall this is a beautiful piece anyone would be proud to own.
This piece measures as pictured.
Good luck!!!
