My Hungarian mother bought this in the summer of 1960 in Moscow's very famous GUM department store on Red Square, opposite the Kremlin. https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Gum_store_Moscow_1960.jpg

She is an adorable Russian girl nodder. She is hand painted, dressed in national costume with a hand on her hip and a raised arm in the traditional dance pose. Rare blue colourway.
She stands about 5 1/4" (13.4 cm) tall and 3 1/4" (8.4 cm) at the widest point.
She nods her head from left to right as she dances.
This made of old bakelite.
Excellent vintage condition just a few small scuffs.
Box is really charming, you can see different colours of recycled card as was the practice in USSR in the Soviet era.
Carefully stored in its original box ever since in smoke free and pet free households.
Thank you very much for viewing, please have a look at my other vintage Russian items for sale.
