Titanic Aft Grand Staircase Wreck Wood (stair piece) If you're a serious collector, you already know this relic

Offered from one of the largest private online Titanic museums

About the Artifact This piece of the Titanic’s aft Grand Staircase (GSC), measuring 3 3/8 " at the base, is believed to have once been a part of a step or a step back panel. It was removed from the sea by the body recovery vessel C.S. Minia in 1912. It was turned by the ship’s carpenter, William Parker, into a well-known picture frame which he crafted for Chief Officer, James Adams. Incorporated into this unique picture frame were intricate carved balustrade sections from beneath the handrail, cut brass originally part of the decorative brass strip which ran across the entire front of each step lip, and hardwood lengths such as this example which Parker used for the back of the frame.

This picture frame remained in the family passing into the hands of Gerald T. Mullin, the grandson of James Adams. In the 1990’s the frame was publicly displayed as part of a special Titanic exhibition presented by the Vancouver Maritime Museum in Canada. In July of 1998, Mullin, sold the frame which was dismantled in August of the same year.

Don't be fooled by fraudulent rectangular pieces of Titanic aft GSC. Traditionally, authentic pieces are cut into triangles, have significant solid provenance (multiple documents), and are high in value.

Authentic relics and artifacts from Titanic are extraordinarily rare and some of the most very valuable collectibles in the world. By far the most difficult to obtain is any part of the Grand Staircase (GSC), which is often romanticized in films, books, and pictures. Even the global collecting elite will go an entire lifetime without ever viewing even the smallest GSC piece...as so little exist in private hands. Here is your chance!

The wood relic is about 3 3/8 " at the widest, with sides measuring 2 9/16 " and 2 1/4" respectively. The few comparable pieces that exist (from the same frame) have been offered as high as $20,000 since 1999. Almost all are highly regarded and "tucked away" in private and museum collections. This piece is the forth of five that will be offered to the public. Three have already been acquired as well as two brass screws; which sold relatively quick. More information on this aft GSC wreck wood section can be viewed at TitanicItems>Wood>Stairwood.

Comes with a several signed certificate of authenticity (two are from respected Titanic researchers/historians and one from the original owners grandson), multiple documents, and several photo copies of the frame it originated from and of the dismantling process. The provenance package has a solid chain-of-custody back to James Adams. Please do not ask for copies of the COA's, these are closely guarded to prevent fraud.
