Naomi Shihab Nye is a wandering poet. For nearly 40 years she has travelled America and the world to read and teach. Born in Missouri to a Palestinian father and an American mother, she grew up in St Louis, Jerusalem and San Antonio. Drawing on her Palestinian- American background, the cultural diversity of Texas, and her experiences in Asia, Europe, Canada, Mexico, Central and South America and the Middle East, her poetry 'reflects this textured heritage, which endowed her with an openness to the experiences of others and a sense of continuity across borders' (Bill Moyers). Through her empathetic use of poetic language, she reveals the shining nature of our daily lives, whether writing about local life in her inner-city Texan neighbourhood or the daily rituals of Jews and Palestinians in the war-torn Middle East. All UK orders are despatched via Royal Mail. We offer a choice of two Royal Mail services, a free 'Economy' service and a 'Standard' premium service. The free 'Economy' service, is a 2nd class service with a delivery time of usually between 3-5 working days and where possible parcels will be tracked. The standard 'Premium' service is a 1st class service with a delivery time of 1-2 working days. This will be a tracked service where possible. You can select which service you would like your order sent by when going through the order process. Where tracking numbers are available, these will be uploaded to your order summary page when the order has been despatched.

All non-UK orders are despatched via P2P Mailing and are sent Priority Airmail. For transit times on international orders please refer to the estimates provided when selecting your desired country. A tracked service is offered for all countries, and where available, an additional untracked option.

If you place your order before 1pm it will be despatched the same day (Monday – Friday). You will receive email confirmation when your order has been despatched.
