Here for your consideration is an exquisite, vintage, m iniature, circa 1924, German, Schuco, miniature 3.5" green/brown, mohair, piccolo monkey.

A beautiful, green/golden brown, piccolo, mohair monkey with metal glazed face and black eyes, swivel head and jointed at the shoulders and hips.

This is as good as it gets with regards to miniature, Schuco monkeys. An extremely rare find indeed. I've only got one, once he's gone .... he's gone. If there's one thing I've learned about antiques/collectables when items are of quality and rare he who hesitates usually loses out.

This novelty, German, Schuco, piccolo monkey is in very good original condition with  no repair or damage. A real testament to its previous owner.

Just a very nice example of a miniature monkey by one of the very best German toy-makers. Considering this exquisite monkey is 95 years old it's in lovely original condition. It does have some beautiful age-related, mohair patina/patination, commensurate with 95 years of age, but nothing unusual.

Schuco ...

A German toy  maker founded in 1912 by Heinrich Müller and the businessman Heinrich Schreyer in Nuremberg Germany's toy capital since early days. The company's specialty was usually cars and trucks in tin, plastic and die-cast.

Originally named Spielzeugfirma Schreyer & Co, the company changed its name to the more succinct Schuco in 1921 most likely a derivation of Schreyer und Company. At its beginnings, the company made unique clockwork tin toys. Some of these were clever in that, instead of using a key, one would wind an arm or have another surprise feature

In the 1920s Schuco introduced its famous Pick-Pick bird (over 20 million were made up until the 1960s). A wind-up mouse, a dancing mouse and trotting dog wearing a cape were other popular offerings. Before World War II there were also a number of 'gnome'-like wind-up figures and soldiers sometimes called blacksmiths – finished in creative colourful attire. They also made a range of miniature, make-up and perfume bottled teddy bears and monkeys in various coloured mohairs.

Dimensions as follows ...

Early, German, Schuco toys are highly collectable and would add value to any toy collection. These cute, piccolo, miniature monkeys have become so very collectable and will only appreciate in value in years to come. A real must for any serious toy collector.

This stunning, cute, piccolo monkey would make an ideal gift.
