Twisted iron tripod stand/mounting bracket for a lightning rod. This was removed from the roof of a farmhouse in east central Ohio that was built in 1860. This stand is in the exact condition/position it was in when removed from the house when the roof was replaced.
It is in good condition for the age and shows lots of character from weathering over many years.
It is bent on an angle to conform to the roof angle, but measures 17" high as it stands.
The holes for the rod measure - .75" (three-quarters of an inch).
