The Image of the ship is woven in silk. These types of cards are known as a Stevengraph.
This was purchased at auction by me from the Henry Aldridge and Sons Auction. They are undeniably the foremost Auction House Dealing with Titanic items. I am not an expert on describing postcards conditions, so please see the photos for condition. I'd say it's pretty good for around 104 years old. This is the preferred Titanic silk card showing the ship at sea. It is much nicer than the hands across the sea cards. I read somewhere once that there are only 10 of these cards in the world today that survive. Some of them were written on by Titanic victims and mailed from the ship and those are not affordable for most.
