Impressed pottery mark on base. Factory mark no. 21 in use between 1925-34. Stamp reads CARTER STABLER ADAMS LTD POOLE ENGLAND
Large earthenware dish and lid covered in white slip and then dipped in a semi-matt clear glaze decoration. Hand-painted decoration. Signed.
Art Deco period was pinnacle of Poole’s history and design, led by chief designer, Truda Carter, during the 1920s.
