Maker : This lovely cream soup bowl with its under plate is by the legendary English china maker Royal Cauldon. The fine bone china is thin and translucent and the craftsmanship is of a very high standard. Age : On the reverse of both pieces is the green "Royal Cauldon England" mark that was in use between 1950 and 1962. Cauldon became Royal Cauldon in 1920. It became part of Coalport in the 1960s and part of Wedgwood when Coalport was taken over. Design : The pattern features finely detailed thistles on a background of pure white fine bone china. Size : The bowl is 4 3/4 inches wide and 2 1/4 inches tall. The under plate is 6 1/4 inches wide. The set weighs 12.6 ounces. Condition : Both pieces are excellent condition with no nicks, chips, cracks, scratches, stains, discoloration, repairs or wear.
