MASSIVE French Antique Mahogany Balloon Bracket Mantel Clock by FRITZ MARTI

This is a wonderful antique Mahogany Balloon Mantel / Bracket clock which is of impressive large proportions . Please note the wine bottle is to show the large proportions  of the clock and is not part of the sale.  The case is made from mahogany which is a lovely rich color  and has been beautifully  inlaid. Below the dial is a wonderful oval fan inlay surrounded in fine stringing. The front and rear of the case is also finished with stringing  which is lovely attention  to detail. 

The clock case is a wonderful waisted  balloon shape. The dial is silvered and is set out with Roman numerals. It is finished with a super pair of shaped fingers. The dial is covered with beveled  glass surrounded in a cast brass bezel and it opens to access the dial. The clock is raised on pretty brass ball feet.

To the rear the clock has a lovely brass fretted door which is lined in red fabric, this is opened via to access the movement. The clock is happily ticking and striking away. The clock strikes the hours and also once at half past on a gong. In addition this clock comes complete with it's winding key and pendulum.

MARTI, FRITZ was working from premises in Vieux-charmont in 1867, exhibited in the  Paris Exhibition of 1889 and was awarded a Medaille d'Or in 1900.

The approximate MAXIMUM dimensions are: - 10 1/4 inches / 26 cm wide. - 7 inches / 18 cm deep. - 16 3/4 inches / 42.5 cm high

AGE :  The clock is circa 1900/1910.

CONDITION: The case is in wonderful condition as can be seen from the photographs, as with any antiques just minor marks commensurate with age and very careful use.  The clock is happily ticking and striking away.   Please study photographs carefully as they form part of the description and condition, as what you view is exactly what you will receive.
