Description: These prints originate from: "Vues pittoresques de l'Ecosse....", Aug. Wahlen et A. Dewasme, Bruxelles 1827. A beautifully illustrated travel book on Scotland. The fine lithographed plates in this work show views of the lakes, waterfalls, abbeys and castles of Scotland, like Berwich, Dunbar, Roslin, Linitihgow, Stirling, Doune, Campbell, Cairndow, Argyle, Dunstaffnage, Oban, Rothwell, Dunbarton, Crookstone, etc., also including some fine views of Edinburgh, Glasgow and Lanark. The artist, Pernot, published a similar work on Paris "Le vieux Paris", in 1838-1839. You will find more items from this work in our ebay store and on our website (use about me link).
Artists and Engravers: This work contains fine lithographs by Paul Lauters after the drawings from nature by Francois-Alexandre Pernot (1793-1865) a French painter and draftsman. Paul Lauters (1806-1875) was a re known Belgian painter and lithographer.
