First Edition, First Printing of Faulkner's delightful children's book written in 1927 for Victoria Franklin, the daughter of Estelle Oldham, whom he later married. A captivating tale of magic and enchantment .

Thought the book was originally typewritten and bound in 1927, it was not published until April of 1967, forty years after it was written and three years after it's copyright (note the copyright page states 1964). Until the appearance of the First Printing, only a single copy of the book existed typed and bound on varicolored paper and typed and bound by the author. This was Faulkner's only children's book.  

Condition :

All pages are clean with no writing. Dust jacket without mylar cover is shown in image 6 and 7. Dust jacket in good condition with some small tears on the top edges of the cover. See images. 

Book board is in good condition with some minor yellowing from age as shown in the later images. Comes with mylar protective cover that protects the dust jacket from damage and provides UV protection.

First Issue Criteria :

"First Printing" stated on copyright page, original price of $3.95 with "4/67" at bottom corner of front jacket flap.
