A splendid early nineteenth century Dutch silver Bachelor Teapot.
It is 23 cm or 9 1/4" from handle to spout. 4 1/2" tall.
Weight is 408 grams.
In the navette form with half fluted decoration. Ebony handle and turned finial. Concealed hinge to lid.
Dutch hallmarks - Minerva head duty mark, date letter - 'H' for 1817, Makers mark - 'DH over figure of a bird within lozenge.
In excellent, clean and crisp condition. One tiny ding to body otherwise without damage or fault. The handle is firm and the pins are in place. The hinge is good and the lid site flat. A very good example.
