What are the chambers for on a nautilus shell? Is there a mathematical system within the chambers? Is a starfish a fish? Can a starfish grow back a leg that has broken off? What does a sea urchin live and what does it look like? How does a bivalve mollusk differ from a univalve mollusk? What is coral and why is it dangerous to ships? Why is a heart shell so named and can they find the scientific naame for it? How do abalones and limpets live? Why was Conus ebraes so named? Can the find the scientific name for the "Candy Cane" Nerita? How did South Pacific natives once use the Cyprea moneta? Why was the bleeding tooth so named and what is the scientific name? What are operculums? How do conus shells hunt and can some of them be dangerous to men? You can come up whit a lot more questions based on this collection. All of these shells are from my private collection and each was collected 1979 or earlier. I have tried my best to correctly identify the shells I am selling, but it is possible that I have made mistakes. It is sometimes difficult because of a range of color and/or shape within a species. As an example, an article in the April 1964 and September 1964 issues of Hawaiian Shell News describes how Voluta Damoni gradually changes along it 3000 mile coastal range from almost no color pattern to a very colorful pattern. Several species have sub species with a lot of variation. The sizes I list are approximate. The shells you will receive are the shells in the photos with this listing. I use several shell identification books to help get the correct names.  I also use various web sites. Some of my favorites are: https://www.bagniliggia.it/WMSD/HtmFamily/CYPRAEIDAELS.htm https://www.bagniliggia.it/WMSD/HtmFamily/CONIDAELS.htm I will include a printed copy of this description section with the items when I mail them. My family and I have enjoyed these specimens for many years.  Now you have the opportunity to enjoy them. This set of shells can be shipped to most countries.  International shipping is exclusively offered through eBay International Shipping Program (ISP). Thanks for shelling with me.
