An Uncleaned 1770 George III Half-Penny Coin With Clear Date. - One of the rarer years in the 1770-75 George III halfpenny series, and many of these coins are in fairly poor condition with unclear dates. That is not the case here. High grade examples of the four genuine versions weighed 9.82g (normal issue), 8.93g, 10.03g & 10.44g. Given the amount of wear on this coin, it is statistically most likely that it is a "normal issue" coin and the scarce amount of available surface detail would support that view.
