Originally created for the dental market, this product has been re-engineered to create the leading alginate for body and life casting.  Super safe and super sensitive - capturing every crease and line of the skin. Bought direct from the manufacturer so it will have a good shelf life (years) until opened. VERY IMPORTANTLY, It is also relatively slow setting, giving you 2 minutes for mixing - depending on water temp. and a further 1 minute to setting making a total of 3 minutes for the process, which is more than twice the time allowed for some other brands.  This can be vital to the success of your project as panicking and rushing really spoils the experience! We also supply a very valuable general help sheet with full user instructions. What will you need to carry out a handcasting or footcasting project ? 450g of Alginate will make up to 5 or 6 new baby hands or feet if you measure the powder accordingly and use small pots/food bags, just a little bigger than baby's hand or foot.  It will make one large adult hand and for an adult foot you need at least two 450g bags.  Remember the Alginate is for making the mould only.  After making the mould, you then need to make a casting from your mould.  To do this you need casting plaster. On another advert, I supply a 1kg pack of Stone Casting Plaster which is ideal for the job.  1kg of plaster is more than enough to go with the 2 x 450g packs of Alginate.  You may also wish to paint your finished casting  After making the casting let it dry thoroughly then paint gold, copper or silver (also supplied in our ebay store).  Finally you can varnish your finished product if necessary.
