British  MOD WW2 era Paratrooper Knife (Release Knife) with Leather sheath and matching numbers 21F/254 on Sheffield Steel blade and leather sheaf.

There are number markings on the wooden handle: DT27_7

Total length is 11 inches. Cutting section of the blade is 4.5 inches. Knife weights 208 grams and sheaf weighs 52 grams. As a paratrooper knife, the front end of the blade is flat and rounded so that when parachuting in they would not be able to accidentally stab themselves, but could cut themselves free if caught in a tree. 

Used with age, see photos. Uncleaned and in original condition. Some brass 'rivets' missing on handle. Little chip on blade edge. Small tear in leather on top of sheaf.

History: This knife has been in my family for 6 decades and has not been restored. My father as a young teenager was given this knife by a school friend whose father was in the military. Whether this knife has seen active service, i do not know.
