Fender Deluxe Roadhouse Stratocaster Metallic Ice Blue 2018 Electric Guitar

Here for sale we have a Fender Deluxe Roadhouse Stratocaster in Metallic Ice Blue finish. Made in Mexico in 2018, this guitar features a bolt-on construction comprising of a Alder body, a 22 fret Maple neck and fingerboard. This instrument is fitted with a two-point synchronized tremolo with bent steel saddles and Fender Deluxe Cast/Sealed Locking tuning machines. The pickups in this guitar are a trio of Lace Sensor Red/Silver/Blue Single-coils wired in a conventional Stratocaster layout, with a 5-way blade pickup selector, master volume, two tone controls.

The Maple neck sits comfortably in the hand, with the 'C' profile allowing for easy fretting in any register and lending itself well to a wide variety of styles. The Satin Maple fingerboard is pleasant to the touch, and with its 12” radius making bending and vibrato techniques a breeze, whilst offering a nice balance between comfortable chord playing and practicality for quick lead lines. The tall/narrow frets enhance vibrato techniques at speed whilst also providing a rock-solid and smooth playing experience while still giving that conventional Fender feel.

The Lace Sensor single coil pickups provide the player with classic Stratocaster sound whilst eliminating the hum created by single coil pickups. The bridge pickup provides a fat and punchy humbucker-like sound, making power chords sound gritty, whilst also providing soaring lead tones. However, with subtler amp settings the bridge offers a bright, glassy clean tone. The middle pickup produces a fat 70s single coil sound with more output and more mids, providing bright trebles and full warm bass, and lends itself well to rhythm tones. The neck pickup features a slightly increased output power and provides a warm 50s humbucker sound, offering a smooth, warm, rounded tone that handles distorted tones as well as it handles clean tones.

Aesthetic Condition:

Headstock: Overall very good condition. The edges on the tip of the headstock present some light indentations, there is also an indentation on rear face of the headstock above the high E tuning peg and at the treble side edge of the headstock.

Neck: Overall very good condition. The rear of the neck presents some light indentations and scratches at the 1st-3rd frets. The fingerboard however presents minimal signs of use.

Body: Overall very good condition. There is a minor crack to the finish at the bass side neck pocket, as is common with bolt-on necks. There is also a mark under the finish at the treble side edge horn edge. A moderate chip is visible to the treble side corner of the bridge cavity, revealing the wood beneath. This is stable and should not worsen through regular use.

Condition of Frets:

The frets show moderate signs of use, not affecting playability. Denting and flattening of the frets is noticeable through the entire register. There is considerable material remaining for any future work the new owner may wish to perform. Light fret buzz is apparent on the 12th fret high E string, this is minimal and only apparent when playing hard.

Further Notes:

The neck and body of this guitar are from two different Deluxe Roadhouse Stratocasters. The Metallic Ice Blue finish only ever shipped with a Pau Ferro fingerboard. The serial number on the headstock brings up a Deluxe Roadhouse Strat in Olympic White finish. This body has all of the barcodes and manufacturing marks that you would expect with a genuine Fender body. The chamfered neck heel and battery cavity, as well as the Metallic Ice Blue finish indicate that it’s definitely from a Deluxe Roadhouse Strat. It is our belief that a previous owner who changed out the pickguard and pickups wanted a Maple fingerboard , and so sourced a Maple Deluxe Roadhouse neck.

Electrics:

Full working order. This guitar has been upgraded by a previous owner with a ‘920D Custom’ loaded pickguard, which is loaded with Lace Sensor pickups. The original parts are not included.

Case & Accessories:

Softshell Case

The case demonstrates minimal signs of use. Truss rod tool (3/16" hex) not included. A replacement Tremolo arm is included.
