OTHER INFORMATION:

Derventio Books:   I'm a small independent bookseller who takes pride in what I do. I don't use stock images, and I inspect and photograph every item myself. I try and offer the kind of friendly service I like to receive. This includes: competitive prices, straight forward descriptions, good communications and items that are well packaged.

Magazines : All the magazines I sell are pre-owned so there will be some wear caused by reading or storage. This might include tiny edge tears or small corner creases however each item will still be in a presentable condition.

Where possible I include multiple photos of the covers and some of the inside pages to give you a good idea of the general condition. Unless otherwise stated please assume any extras such as free posters or supplements will already have been removed.

Returns : If you are unhappy in any way with the item you’ve bought, please contact me. I will always do my best to but things right. If you want to return an item, it is your right to do so within 14 days, but again I’d be grateful if you would contact me first to make arrangements.

COMBINED POSTAGE:  I'm always happy to combine postage. Please use your basket and buy the items as a single transaction. Either request an updated invoice or pay and I will send you a refund.

CONDITION:

All the books and magazines I sell are pre-owned so they will show some signs of use. Where possible I include multiple photos, to help you judge the condition. Obviously condition is subjective, but this is my guide:

FINE  (F) –  Sometimes referred to as ‘Mint’. This is a book or magazine which has been protected and carefully stored from new. It is completely undamaged and unmarked.

NEAR FINE  (NF) – Nearly perfect. Just a hint of shelf or storage wear.

VERY GOOD  (VG) –  A book or magazine that has been used or read, but is still very presentable. There will be some signs of shelf wear such as light rubbing, small marks or creases. There may also be some paper discolouration on older paperbacks or magazines and to dust wrappers. Anything significant will be mentioned separately.

GOOD  (G) – A book or magazine that is complete, but will it is likely to be well read. It will have obvious wear which may include minor damage or cracking to the spine,  along with rips to a cover or dust wrapper, larger marks, staining or larger creases. The book may also be slightly out of shape.

POOR  (P) – Sometimes the word ‘Fair’ is used by some book sellers. This will be an item that will  have suffered significant damage or very heavy use. Its cover may be badly ripped or stained. There may be missing pages. I would only offer such an item for sale because of its rarity or research value.

POSTAGE & PACKAGING

All items will be well packaged. I try and pack things how I'd like to receive them.

I try and post most things on the day you pay for your order, and certainly within 48 hours (two working days) of payment being cleared.

I use Royal Mail second class up to 2 kg. Larger items are usually sent via courier.

P&P Charges: Where postage is advised separately the charge is based on the actual postage cost plus around 30p towards the cost of packaging which includes new cardboard mailers, padded envelopes, corrugated cardboard, bubble-wrap, tape etc. It is never my intention to make extra money via the postage.

Late delivery: Most things I send inside the UK usually arrive within five working days of being posted.  If your item has not arrived in that time, please check your neighbours, you’re local sorting office (who may be holding it following a delivery attempt) and of course message me.

Combined postage : I will always combine postage – where the size and weight allows. Contact me and I will be happy to quote on the cheapest postage options.

International buyers : Contact me for a quote. I can often do a much better price when compared to eBay's International shipping service.

Problems: I’m proud of the service I offer and if any problems or issues do arise - please message me first. I will always do my best for you.
