This clock is not currently winding or ticking so definitely a wee project for somebody. Fully restored it would be a great item. Even when ticking, all mechanical timepieces require regular servicing to ensure long term working so please bear in mind when bidding that no guarantee can be made on watches. They can simply be described as ticking or not ticking at present. We would always recommend a service after purchasing any mechanical timepiece. Really great example of an early 20th century carriage mantel clock in hammered sterling silver. The maker's mark is that of J Batson & Son with the date letter for 1905. French eight day movement. The dial with Roman numerals. Blued steel hands. 13cm high including handle. Please see Condition Report for full condition information. This clock is not winding or ticking at present. It would need attention. The case also shows a little wear/tarnishing as the pictures show. Dial a wee but tarnished but OK. Overall condition is pretty good for age and the hallmarks are very clean as you can see. Even when a mechanical timepiece is described as working it means that it is tested by myself and is ticking away nicely and keeping good time to within a few minutes in a 24 hour period. Please bear in mind that should you buy any vintage, mechanical timepiece it may require a full service in the future or may begin to lose or gain time in the future.
