Seller: leftarmspinner127 (405) 100%, Location: Sutton, Ships to: GB & many other countries, Item: 381864725669 Philip Haas and Sohne Mantle Clock I bought this clock last year as a non working clock to repair upon a clock course that I attend. I can't remember what the fault was but I quickly repaired it and gave it a check over and oiled it. As it seemed to go perfectly I didn't completely dismantle it.Since then it has gone perfectly whenever I can remember to wind it.I don't know what the wood is but it seems extremely robust. There are a couple of minor faults if one looks at the photos. There is a small split on the inside of the back door and someone has cut through two of the bun feet obviously to make it fir over something. The wooden plinth on the top is missing but I don't feel that really detracts from the clock as it gives a perfect spot to place the small key.I don't know how old the clock is but it doesn't have the hare logo it merely has P.H. & S. on the back plate. On the remains of the label underneath it says that it was made in Baden. Is this an early one made before the hare logo began to be used? The dial of the clock is a rather intricate pattern made of metal and painted. See photo. The clocks dimensions are 43cmsx 30cms x 18cms.It chimes quite loudly on the hour and half hour although I must admit it sounds a bit like someone beating a dustbin lid. It chimes the hour about 4 minutes to the hour and the half hour at about 27 mins past.It does go well though and has a certain presence.
