Seller: jacquchetw (68) 96.8%, Location: Coventry, West Midlands, Ships to: Americas, Europe, Asia, AU, Item: 272462070604 This antique French slate and marble bell striking bracket/mantle clock comes in excellent condition and good working order running quietly and smoothly while keeping good time and striking correctly on que. There are no chips cracks or repairs anywhere on the clock and the finish is fresh and clean. It has a heavy slate case that has inlaid marble detail and scroll decoration. It has a solid bronze Tang war horse (I think it's a Tang horse) that as far as I can tell is an original fitting, there is no evidence of it being a later addition although what a Chinese Tang horse is doing on a french bracket clock baffles me.The casting and detail of the solid hot cast bronze horse is high quality and the detail superb. It shows a rich dark paterna that only genuine age can bring (see photo's). The clock has an enamel dial that again is in excellent condition and decorated with pretty pink flower swags to the border. It is signed Regniez de France and Aubicny en Artois at the 12 and 6 o'clock positions. It runs on a signed bell and hammer striking movement that strikes on the 1/2 and full hour positions with a pretty crisp "Ting".The movement is signed (see photo) but I cant quite make out the wording but it is French anyway. The origianl key is included. Together with the slate and the bronze this clock is very heavy weighing 19klo unwrapped.I have packed the clock ready for shipping and the parcel weighs over 31 klo and is very large due to the packing that is required for safe transit.I will use a courier service for UK buyers (excluding off shore addresses,Northern Island and some remote Scottish locations. These locations are as International buyers shipping requirements) but this will be expensive so collection from Coventry may be the best option.Against my better judgement I will ship to international buyers but they must make their own shipping arrangements (including insurance for loss or damage) and book their own courier to collect the parcel. These costs are non refundable in the event of a return request. I will wrap and pack to a standard that will endure the rigors of international travel at no extra cost.I think the clock dates to around 1900 give or take a decade or so.The dimensions can be seen in the photo's showing the wooden ruler in position. All in all this is a fabulous antique and so much better looking and quality than your bog standard Victorian slate clock.International buyers please contact me for the details you will need (size of parcel,Collection address ect) to obtain a shipping quote before you make the purchase. As the best quote I could find for Australia was over £400 make sure your sitting down when getting your quotes. Please note should you wish to return the clock for any reason all return costs are at buyers expense and any International shipping cost's both outward and inward are non refundable.International buyers must accept the possibility of delayed delivery times outside of the sellers control (Customs, transfers ect) and agree and accept these conditions before purchase. Condition: Signed to dial and movement.Solid bronze Tang horse to top.Excellent condition in good working order., Age: Antique, Post-1900, Type: Mantel/ Carriage Clock, Sub-Type: Bronze Tang Horse to Top, Style/ Origin/ Theme: French, Material: Bronze, Features: Keys, Winders
