ANTIQUE VICTORIAN - EDWARDIAN,PAIR (2) FLAT BACK BRASS LADY’S SHOE ORNAMENTS

This pair of Victorian – Edwardian thick gaugesheet brass hand-made lady’s boot ornament. The boot is stamped with markingsoutlining the shape of the boot and heel. The backs are fitted with a U shapebracket to assist standing.

Each brass lady’s boot ornament is 120 mm., high, and 95 mm., at thewidest point and each one weighs 113 grams. The weight of both boots are 226grams. The brass sheeting is approximately 3 mm., thick.

These lady’s boot ornaments were of given inpairs as wedding gifts, (one for the bride and one for the groom) and wereplaced on the mantlepiece in their new home and considered good luck.

The maker is not known , may be made inEngland. and date 1870-1909. The country of origin and dates are notguaranteed.

These Victorian - Edwardian lady’s bootmantlepiece ornaments were pre-owned, in good condition, does not have anydents, deep scratches or gouges. It does have scratches commensurate with age,usage & wear. Seller’s ref. AA231
